Burnout = Limp Mode?
Burnout = Limp Mode?
Stock SS/SC 'balt performance-wise, save for a CAI.
Hilarious determination for an epic burnout.
Soap + water laid on ground, handbrake yanked all-the-way up, appropriately-rev'd clutch dump.
Two feet's worth of elevensies later, motor almost dies with sickening pops out of the exhaust and knocking from the motor. "ENG REDUCED PWR" on the dash.
Shut car off, restarted, same noises, same code.
I used a scanner to get codes - standard lean code from CAI, clutch switch code and throttle position code. Tried to clear the codes, then the car wouldn't start.
Took clutch switch out, tested it and the circuit back to the harness - both checked out. Pulled PCM fuse, restarted car. Ran perfect.
Clearly, it was an electrical fluke - but what caused it?
After a minute, the CEL came back on. Checked the codes again and there were at least thirty, all for random-ass **** - no 'not readys', either. Again, tried to clear them - but clearing them failed and prevented the car from starting.
Pulled PCM fuse, car started and runs perfect - but all of these obscene amounts of codes are still there.
Any ideas? I know I didn't break anything but electricity - planning on taking the car to HPE to borrow their Tech2 next week.

Burnout? Seriously?
I dont know, but good luck with the limp mode. My car did it randomly for a long time. It was a bad wire to the MAF screwing it all up. But all my codes were MAF/MAP and BARO

Plus, I can't see how - after ~56k miles full of burnouts, peel outs, revs, fast corners and random races - a simple burnout would cause this? Think anything could have damaged said wire?
Again, I'll poke around the wiring - but I'm sure a Tech2 will provide more answers than I'll get from a multimeter.
