busted flex pipe?

Well my 06 ls busted one and now my wifes has. 50,000ish miles and its broke almost all the way around. Will this be covered under the 80k catalytic convertor warranty?

well if the cat is damaged or if it affects the cat (assuming it does) then the dealership should replace it. as long as your not crazy modded your good. if not, its an easy fix. just buy another flex pipe and weld it on where the old one is. shouldnt cost u that much.

Not covered, the cat will only be covered if it has codes or is damaged. I went threw this maybe 6 months ago, went to/called 5 dealers no one would cover it because the cat was functioning. I ended up buying a new flex pipe and wielding it in.

Huh.. I guess it depends on who you ask. I've always just put cats on cars that come in like that. Haven't had my ass chewed out yet.. *shrugs*

They are cover by the factory warrenty but not the 8/80 emissions.

I'm saying I've replaced cats with busted flex-pipes under 8/80k. Its kind of a known problem on these Ecotecs anyways.
