car is down again!!!!!!
well i just got done installing a new motor and trans, after the last motor blew. so i was on the way home from work the other night and all of the sudden i lose boost alltogether, and the car feels very sluggish. a few seconds later the low oil pressure light and the low voltage light come on. so i pull over and pop the hood. the serpentine belt was not moving at all. so i jack the car up and low and behold the crank pulley is spinning freely. i torque it down and drive home. by the time i get there. same problem occurs again. so i'm like wtf..... well a little while ago i went out to work on the car and see if i could fix the problem. as soon as i pulled the crank pully off, i realized it was going to be a very bad day
. the damn shim for the crank pulley snapped
. i know why too, the ******** mechanic that installed my motor and tranny failed to torque down the crank pulley. so now i have to pull the motor to get the cover off to replace the damn shim. you can't ******* trust mechanics to do such simple ****!!!!!!!! wtf over.
/end rant

did you have a new (as in new crate engine from gm) engine put in, or a used one from the junkyard??? did your mechanic actualy touch this part??? if it was a used motor, id venture to guess no. even if it was a new motor, wouldnt it come with the crank pulley. regardless, you likley have a warrenty and if it is in fact the mechanic that messed this up, im sure he will cover it. if it was a used motor, usually the place the motor came from will warrenty it, but not the labour to re/re the engine.
talk to your mechanic, CALMLY. yelling and screaming at him will get you no were, and its disrespectful, especially if the problem isnt their fault.

woulodnt really count the crank pulley as an accessory. id almost bet that if it had a crank pulley on it he wouldnt have changed it. however, if he did, its his fault and he should be fixing it for you free of charge.
sorry for the rant guys, i'm just tired of the constant problems i've been having.
update, so it was not just the crank puleey and shim that was fucked up, the crankshaft itself has a chunk missing, and the cam drive gear is fucked!!!!!!

how the ****.........i only got 400 miles out of this ****** motor.

x2.. man that suck's.. why was the person selling the used motor? and if the greese money swapped all the motor accessory's he is at fault.. cause if the crank pulley was spinning free it damaged a few other thing's as you can see.. hope all works out well
well warranty was a nogo, i just ordered all the parts to build a full forged motor with an 8k rpm redlin. wow was that ******* expensive, i will also be cryo treating the whole thing for added assurances.
pm me about cost so i know what to look forward too, im sure you got some decent deals. Oh how much do you think it would cost to cryo some stock axles and how much strength would that add to them IYO
