Exclamation Car Level on Jack Stands?

I jacked my car up last night to rotate the tires and clean some things up (possibly paint my calipers) when I noticed a problem. I started by jacking the front drivers side up, then passenger front. *Inserted jack stands* Then I jacked up rear. When I set the rear down on jack stands I noticed that the drivers side hit the stand before the passenger side. I have the jack completely lowered and the car is hovering above the rear passenger side jack stand. I was like "WTF" I've never seen/had this problem before. This is the first time I've jacked this car up. Yes all the jack stands were the same height.... (Duh).

I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem? I ended up leaving the jack stand in place for safety and had the car resting slightly on the jack itself. If I'm the only one with this problem... this may be a dealership kind of thing.

*Bump*

I know a lot of you have jacked your car up / rotated your tires / painted calipers along with several other things. I need your input.

when irocz0r and i painted his calipers, we noticed the same thing. we just ended up lowering all the jacks to their lowest possible position, then raising the rear driver jack so that it made contact with the frame and the car stayed level. (just as a precaution, the car seemed fine without it, but irocz0r told me if his car fell off, he was going to 'eat my *********'. so, i wanted to make sure)

but, yeah, i don't know what causes it but it's normal. i've seen it on other cars besides the Cobalt as well.

That sound pretty scary. I think I would have left at that time.

I haven't put the whole car on jackstands, so I can't really help. Sorry.

I'll give ya a free bump, lol. I haven't had the entire car up on stands yet. Sounds pretty strange though.
