Car not pulling its self
Car not pulling its self
I had to get my car towed to the dealer. I found Friday night that my car when pushed would do 20 psi instead of the 15 psi I was getting with stage 2. When it would go over 15 psi I would hear a whistle. the more I drove it the lower the presser had to be to make the whistle and the less power I had. I'm thinking it to be the cat but I don't know if there is anything else wrong now or not. My car has 37,320 miles on it. Figures...
They started saying it is a bad engine and started doing pressure checks. Now they are about done with the tests and think the engine is ok. Now they are saying they think the supercharger is shot. I don't see how excessive boost shows the supercharger is shot. lol I just want to know who to kick when they finally say it is the cat. I told them that is what I thought it was. I guess since I'm not a GM tech I don't know anything.
Working at a place where we see lightly used vehicles (off the GMAC auctions), we have one in just today that had the same issue. A Grand Am that was only doing about 70 km/hr tops and it turned out to be a catalytic converter. Since on the emissions warranty, it didn't cost us the $700.
