Car not starting

Ok, well like an idiot i put in neon lights in my car. and ever since one of them got stepped on and broke, i keep blowing my #16 10a fuse. (?hvac/cluster?) i usually will just replace the fuse then wait for it to blow again. but today it keep blowing and i couldn't get my car started.. finally i put a 20a fuse in there after trying a 15a, and that worked. when i got home i ripped out the lights, still have the wiring in there, gonna take care of that tomorrow. but i was just wondering if any body else is having problems with this fuse? oh and i just spliced into the cigar lighter for the power, just in case you were wondering.. and i just thought of another question. where else can i get power to reinstall the lights a different way? don't want them to go to waste..

run direct power from the battery, with its own fuse and switch.

If you leave that 20 amp in there you will possibly smoke the wires ,and you think you have trouble now!
The one will heat up and melt the rest together not a pretty picture.

Connect from the battery with a inline fuse to the swith for the new lights ,the instructions should say at what amp the fuse should be.
