Car shut off while driving

Alright guys decided to do a WOT pull on the way home and once I hit 2nd gear at 6k the car cut completely off. Completely stock lsj. Gm stage two from factory. Coasted for about 1/2 mile to pull over. Turn the key off then went to crank it and it barley wanted to run then cut back off. I have a half of a tank of gas before I floored it. Once I got it to crank my gas light popped on and said low fuel. Where the heck did my gas go. Anybody had this problem yet. I thought I threw a rod when it happened. Oil is fine and couldn't smell gas anywhere.

It pulled some codes.
P0461-fuel level sensor A circuit range/performance
P0300-random multiple misfire
P0171-bank 1 system too lean
P0335-crankshaft position sensor

If you're driving around normal its not that demanding on the fuel system, going WOT works the fuel system a lot harder than normal driving.

Also if you're at 350miles on that tank and it says half full, your fuel sender is def bad. I want to say I averaged that with my base model for almost a full tank not a half

Well I filled up just a few minutes ago from being on it empty. I put in $16 of gas and my needle went back up to a full tank. Which makes sense because I had a half tank before it dropped to empty.

As in you only put $16 worth pre-paid or you filled it till it clicked? If you're getting 350miles on 6-8gallons of fuel you are near 50mpg

What I'm saying is there is already a half a tank of gas in the car but the computer with only reading empty so therefore when I filled it up it only took $16.00 because it wasn't really empty do you see what I am saying

Bad fuel pump sounds like. This sounds similar to what happened in my blazer years ago

You couldn't order the Stage 2 kit from the factory.

Sounds like the CPS (crank position sensor) took a crap. Try replacing that first.

QFE

If you started with a full tank, dropped to a half tank in 350 miles, then you have reached hypermiler super platinum status. Sorry, but I don't believe it.

No I started with a half a tank of gas. When I once the car cut off going down the road it said I was on empty. Not a full tank.

The stage 2 kit was on the car when I got it. The looked to be garage kept because how clean it was. The engine bay was spotless. It's got 154k miles on it. I bought it with 149k

No I dont see what you're saying because it doesnt make any sense.

Did the pump click as in the tank is full because the pump sensed back pressure? Or did you pre-pay $16 in fuel?

If you get 350miles to the half a tank you said you went through you are at epic cobalt mpg

Yes the pump clicked. The car now registers full. That's why it only took 16 dollars to fill up because there was still a half of a tank of gas even though it registered empty.

So did you get 350miles on half a tank? Or is that what you get for a full tank?

Ok that makes more sense now, from how the question was asked and you answered before it sounded like you got 350miles on half a tank, which would explain the cut out.

Replace your CPS since you have that code
