I went out to my 06 cobalt ss this morning and it won't start. All lights come on, the radio resets, but it doesnt attempt ti turn over. The battery is fine. Ive been having issues with the security system but that seems fine. Also the check engine light has been on and im told it is due to either too much or too little fuel getting in but when I reset it it takes about a week to turn back on so the dealer says its not a big deal. Anyone have any ideas what it could be or something to try?? Im desperate! I dont have the money to havr a mechanic diagnose it for hours!

 

What are all the codes? And where in ct are you?

 

Code it had was p1174. I dont have the tool and it wont start so I don't know if its giving a new one now. Im in northeastern ct. 20 mins north of norwich.

 

So last night we got it to start by jumping the actual battery, not the ports, but this morning nothing again. Going to get a new battery for it and see if that helps. Please comment with other suggestions!

 

I just went through this.. Car wouldn't start after 1 hour break. No codes, but a not so normal noise from the starter, when starting. Push started to make sure everything else was legit. Only thing left was starter. New starter, and 2 hours later, she's good as new.
