yeah you're gonna need someone with the right tools to check it out(dealer). my two cents is that upon the wiring of your headlights, you may have blown a fuse somewhere or the wires are short grounding(exposed wire from melting or tearing touches a metal part of the car and grounds itself before it gets to where it needs to go). that could be from doing the lights without disconnecting the battery. I think it is a purely electrical problem because with an 09, you shouldn't be facing issues with simple exhaust bolt-ons. thats my opinion. also try popping the clutch again because that eliminates the need for a starter. but as i said, we use some fancy tools here at the dealer i work at to diagnose things like this so find out bout warranty before you get fucked on dealer costs.

thats wat im tryin to do now... I highly doubt this'll be covered under warranty, so I'm tryin to pinpoint the problem so if its unfixable from my side I can tell em EXACTLY wat it is..
I don't think its how I wired my lights tho.. this is my second set of Retros, and i did the ground/wiring almost the exact same way... If all else fails, Ima jus take off the relay an connections to battery an have it towed up there

it also could be a security control module that could go bad. idk if cobalts have exactly what i see at work but a similar problem happens with no obvious electrical malfuncion because the module needs to send the engine codes upon start up so the injectors know they can spray, spark plugs spark, and yadda yadda yadda. if that module is bad, the engine wont know that it can tart running, and the starter will just keep cranking. usually problems like these are hard to fix on your own. but good luck anyway.

you dont need to know the problem if you go to patriot, corey will fix your car and it will be under warrenty. just tell him your car wont start and the post just fell out of no where, not that corey will care because if you cant come up with a good enough story for GM he will do it himself, you will get your car fixed for free and he will get paid for the work by GM so everyone will win.

i hooked you up with all this info and other **** and yet you still insist on ****** your car up and nothing ever goes right, im just wondering when your gonna learn

My guess is a crank position sensor. You have to use a scan tool to find out for sure. Not a cheap one, a good scan tool. When it happened to me, the code came up under the "pending codes" section of my scantool.

I'm glad I can help. Being ASE certified helps

Remember, you can throw parts at it til it works, or you can diagnose the problem and fix it right the first time and save money.
