this is my impala not my cobalt but mayb yu guys can help me.
its an 06 impala ss 5.3L it wont start. does a loud clicking noise lyk if the battery was dead so i bought a new battery intalled it and still does the same thing i also got my starter tested n ot passes. i doubt. its my alternator. all my light turn on fine it jus wnt crank ovr.
need help thnx guys

tested starter and its good. what are CELs ?

 

Check Engine Light. Do the simple things first, check fuses and relays.

no check engine light.. ok how would i know if a relay is bad?

 

Switch them around with another relay

No problem. Preferably switch with a relay that doesn't have a major function. Like wiper relay etc

 

well i tryed that n still nuthin it jus click we i turn the ignition

Ok next thing I'd do would be to try starting it and smack the starter with a hammer or a block of wood or something to see if that makes it work. I'm not sure what they tested about the starter but it could be that it's getting power and is just seized

 

If you hear the clicking and the battery and starter are good maybe the flywheels in a bad spot .
Try putting it in neutral and starting it,if that doesnt work then move the car a bit and while it's moving jam it back into park to move the fly wheel a bit .

Really it sounds like a dead battery but you've had all the basics checked.

 

well i decided to take the new battery i jus bought to get tested n they saod it was bad!.
so i guess it was a defect battery. so hopefully dats the problem ill have the battery tomorow morning so ill let yu guys know wat happens.
