So... here we are again... part 3

Basic jist of it is as follows: Car won't start just "Click Click Click" tried jumping didn't work. Towed to dealer, dealer replaced starter and starter relay. Called me to come get it. Got there and it wouldn't start. Next day, calls me to come get, says there was a wire loose... wtf, got the car back it seems fine.

New Information:

This morning, get into my car try to start it up, "Click Click Click Click Click Click" and then Starts... WTF... thats not good, it never clicked before (except when it wouldn't start at all) Went to get gas filled up. Went to start it at the gas station, "Click Click Click Click Click Click Vrooom" starts up again... arg this is BAD... just get me to work please...

Driving to work... about 1 mile away. "Zap..." Everything is dead... coast over to the side of the road, turn the key off and back on, and try to start... "Click Click Click Click Click Click" NOTHING... try again, "Click Click Click Cliiii" and it dies kind of... The fuel gauge falls to empty and the DIC beeps of "LOW FUEL" and beeps that like 3 times... then it displays "POWER STEERING" and BEEPS some more...

I try to start it again... this time is just plays dead... I try again and it acts like it did above... its vaires... but the end result was always the same car = dead... Tried jumping the battery... still no luck... All Electronics seem fine... Windows... lights... radio and sound system thump away... WTF WTF WTF...

I called GM again to talk to my case rep and updated the status of whats going on... I said "I Need a new car" I have had 3 no start issues... and I am currently looking into the lemon law.

Love the Cobalt... hate the car... (if that makes any sense)...

yeah, definitely get rid of her, there is certainly something wrong with your car that apparently the retards cannot fix...nothin wrong with an '06!

 

Got my car towed to summit chevy (summit,nj) Seems like a nice guy. He pulled up my service record and nearly fell over... He could not believe how much **** Ive had fixed... He said he would give me a call asap about whats wrong.

On top of that I think I caught a cold from standing out in the rain w/ the tow truck driver... this blows... I am sick and tired and I just want a ******* cobalt ss/sc that runs like it should.

sounds like you have computer problems my friend...my mother had the same type of situation with her bonneyville years back

 

Yeah I think so... I already had my ECM replaced before too...

I am going to look into legal assistance (my mom works for lawyers) I will be getting a new car... what I don't know is how hard I am going to have to push.

I'd be so pissed I would kick that dealership right in the face and leave the keys and say now it's your car. call me when you have another one ready for me.

 

Hope you get things worked out. I love mine and haven't had a single issue much less even a squeak or rattle.

 

Yeah... I am trying to handle this as civil as possible... but I am litterally at my witts end... I am going to wait for summit chevy to call me back with what they think is wrong... then Ill wait to see what GM does about it...

IF it does NOT envolve a NEW cobalt... Heads WILL roll...

Anyone got any words of advice on persuing this for a new car?

Get a lawyer.

 

I honestly think I have a good case... I am hoping GM will do the right thing and step up... I think its a fair request to ask for an '06 (w/ g85 ) to replace this scrap metal lemon.

i think (don't quote me on this) the lemon law states that you qwill be raplaced with something of equal value....so i wouldn't be counting on the one with the g85 although if you do happen to get it...lemme know who your lawyer is.....lol

 

Arrival Blue = Extra Value Limited Edition Color LOL and they will not be able to get me an Arrival Blue, if it is replaced... and I would gladly trade out my Onstar and XM together they are about a grand.

I had a situation wiith my ABS going out, then the brake lights not coming on, then the dealer did a bunch of damage to my car and the inerior. I posted all the mishaps on ************* if anyone wants to read it. Don't count on GM doing much on their own, unless the dealer really pushes for you. It's the area reps job and the job of their customer service to keep you in the car if at all possible. I am still trying to get the dealer to replace the skins on my recaro seats that they stained. Everything else worked out.

Get a lawyer, find out for sure in your state what the lemon law says. Most cases if you have a decent lawyer and it fits the law they will give in and get you something of equal value. *I hope you are not upside down on the thing as that might get ugly if you try to walk away entirely* GM may do one last thing if the dealer can't fix it, is fly an engineer out from Detriot *I am told, not saying this is the way it goes just told by a dealer during my whole ordeal, that they have guys that do that period* The person will fly out look your car over and if he can't find the problem they will lemon law it without you getting an attorney. However in your case, get a good one and make them take the car back.

My '06 sine having the ABS module, and EBCM replaced has been running flawless *knock on wood* with 2900 miles on it and counting. Hopefully you get some great customer service unlike what I have received.

G85 parts are rare too still. It may be better now, but 3 months ago I could only find one car *mine* in all of Denver and surrounding areas. Guys that I know on the other cobalt site were special ordering and waiting 6-12 weeks. I don't know if it is the recaro seats or the limited slip diff or both that were hard to come by.

Again I hope things work out for you and you get what you want with great customer service out of the dealership and GM.

Holy crap! I feel for you man.

I'm at two weeks on a garage lift, and still no engine in sight or being pulled from somewhere! I think I just got to drive around the car for a few months, then they took it back it seems.

If they gave me my money back, I'd definatley buy the Scooby Roo now!!!!

 

That thread of someone getting a swap was incouraging... I hope I have the same luck.

Who's to say they won't park that car in the back for a month or two and then call you up and say,"Hey, the new car's hear!!!!!!". I could just see them all laughing as you drive it off the lot......only to break down a block before you get home!!!!!

 

Well... I just spoke to the dealership who currently has my car... and they have no idea whats wrong with it...

I am starting to get a little excited with anticipation on the possibility of a "Collateral Swap"...

I also called my GM HQ Rep and left a message explaining how the dealership is still all like WTF on my car and I have 3 seperate accounts documented regaurding this issue (starting up) and how I am currently also seeking legal advice on this mater.
