cd stuck in drive and lucky break
cd stuck in drive and lucky break
so i put a burned cd in (it was very dark 5am and i was very tired) and it wouldnt play or eject. i tried everything i could think of for half an hour.
9 hours later hop into a cold car hit eject and upsidedown disc pops right out.
i had already called my dealer to take it in. He said just a few certain stock radio models are prone to that exact thing with burned discs. now i was radio dj for a few years i know intimately much of the relationship and quirks between cd players and cd discs. for instance can you spot a yuden from 10 feet away. i can.
i dont think this is something most cobalt users should worry about unless like me you really prefer burnable discs that have a blank top that in the dark you cant tell the difference between top or bottom.
anyway hope this saves someone a little stress and or call to dealer. ecspecially if your copy of yanni gets stuck.
ps canada please send us another phil hartman, steven wright, and harland williams. please keep anyone named celine.. thanks america

if its the base level radio, the exact thing happened to me with the addition of the clock changing the time on its own......i had it replaced under warranty, but they put in the uplevel radio with the chrome knobs, but not the MP3. i havent had any problems since.

"SICKNESS!"
being an audio phile is just another sick form of perfectionist i guess. like people who spaz over grammer nuances or police who give tickets for under 100mph. ive had such good luck with yudens. and i cant beleive that alot of my cheap india made cd discs that are only 5+ years old are starting to get "crc" errors already. alot of people trust those cheap discs too much with important info planning in 10 years the can pop in their burned cd with all their old like tax info or legal stuff. its very likely the average user will get some form of errors. and noone keeps hardrives 10 years. anyway. just my opinon that in the near future will start being alot more discs being advertised as having a certain shelf life length.
"to the troubleshooting section"
sorry ill be sure next time
"with the chrome knobs, but not the MP3."
weak man sometime in the life of the car you may really want that mp3 ability. if it was recent enough i might send a complaint to chevy. not the dealer they can only install what they get back.
