Cel

I have a 2.2L with a CMD air intake. And yesterday my check engine light came on, so I called a friend of mine who is a tech and he said he would look at it today. Well after about an hour the check engine light went off. So we didnt get to see what the code was. Tonight I was driving home from work and the light came on again Does anyone know what the code maybe and how to fix it. Any and all advise is welcome.

go to autozone when it comes on they will tell you the code for free, that way you dont have to worry about waiting for your friend to check it

I'd put my money on the infamous lean code. As for fixing it, be sure to go through the entire intake and make sure everything is very tight. If that doesn't work, take the filter off and REALLY clean it. Scrub it out and let it dry for a LONG time (we're talking hours), preferably in the sun. When you oil it (assuming it's supposed to be oiled), do so LIGHTLY. That SHOULD take care of it, that's all it took to fix the CEL on my Fujita.

On my way to work this afternoon it went off again. And since I work in a shop I was going to check when I got here, but now I cant since it went out. It seems to come on and then go out after the car seats for a few hours. Idk but it is really getting on my nerves.

Are you sure because all the guys here at the shop are telling me that you can only tell what the code is only if the cel is on

You can check the last codes that popped up. The light doesnt have to be on.

Just got done checking the code and it was P0172 (System too Rich), so we cleared it. I hope that it does not come back on.
