p0451 evaporative emission control system pressure sensor range/performance.

thats what came up on my ob2 scanner from the trifecta dealer kit.

ive had all my parts in my sig including tune for few months now just got this now.

any ideas / help will be greatly appreciated.

did u just buy gas?

 

i put gas last thursday. i have a lil less than 3/4 full

 

nevermind then...i dunno...

we used to get an evaporative emissions code back when i ran a shop and it was almost always due to someone refueling while their car was running or leaving the gas cap off or loose after a fill up...we'd just retighten, reset the ecu and send 'em on their way free of charge...unless they were a douche!!!

i could be confused tho on the exact code and description...it was a few years back and a relatively rare occurance...thought it was worth a try tho...sorry bro!

 

if i just ignore the code and clear it. is it a problem 2 the car?

 

Id say maybe your EVAP sensor or solenoids are not working as they should...???

 

i'd try to clear it and see if it pops back up...try to pay attention and notice any similarities between this time it popped up and next time (if it even happens again)...make a note tho of the code and description. also check the gas cap and seal just to see, then retighten, reset ecu, and see what u get....

is the car running any differently with the code? prolly not, right?!?

just was wondering if i clear code if its a problem to the car if i ignore it.

like if its a stupid sensor that just stopped working and i could just ignore it.
and will not cause any issues to vehicle.

 

clear it...if it's a prob, it'll just pop back up!

 

Hey ssturbo305 ive been getting the same code + system too lean idle bank one and it was idiling funny.. I have similar mods.. been trouble shooting it with Vince over labor day, very nice of him to help me out.. Have you experienced you car not starting every time you get gas and you have to give it gas to start the car? Stuffs kind of annoying, it puts the car in a limp mode where it wont boost past 5 pounds.. I think I am going to try buying an evap sensor of gmparts direct if I can find the P/N.. Sub'd from my Crackberry for any updates!

 

and take a look and if any sensors look funny near the mani where the coldside pipe goes in.. I have one hanging a little funny..

 

none of that happend to me. just the cel is all i got. cleared it since the day i made the thread and nothing since. *knocks on wood
