Changed wheels, no TPMS, but no alarm!

So I recently installed my winter tires. They are mounted on wheels that do not have TPMS.

I was expecting the dashboard to give me the annoying warning.
Instead it keeps showing fixed pressure values for which I have no idea where they are coming from.

This is not related to the tires being stored near since when I am away, nothing changes.

Not having the warning is nice and all, but I am just curious trying to understand why is this happening.

Anyone have any idea?

How long have you driven without them?

Well, I changed the tires yesterday morning and realised the situation that same night.

How far are the tpms rims from the vehicle? When it's parked?

They are in my basement, around 15-20 fts away.

But... Yesterday I went out at night and parked my car a good 4 hours out of home.
And nothing changed, the TPMS was still showing the pressures - although while driving, the values were not changing.

I have mine about that distance too. And what I noticed is 2/4 sensors are picking up. I think if they don't get a new signal within 20 minutes they blank out. My sensors used to be about 30ft away and they would not pickup at all.

Mine will pick mine up sometimes too and the light won't come on until I'm driving home from work.

It takes awhile for them to not register. If you drive short distances then it may not pick it up for awhile. Go drive for an hour and I bet it picks up that they aren't there.

Thanks for the tip.
