I showed this problem to my dealer and under warranty they have agreed to strip, sandblast, bake, and repaint the doors. They are also going to install that clear-bra material on the effected door surface to prevent it from happening again...body shop manager had seen the problem before. Now that's customer service!

one other thing that you guys should check is the leading edge of the quarter panel on either side (the bulge in front of the tire opening). My paint is severely damaged there. I had a body shop, while fixing some vandal damage, repair the area.
i love my car and all, but I feel that even though it is a bottom rung car, they could've put a little more paint/clear on it... especially cars heading to the northeast!

Paint
I Just had my bottoms of my doors re-painted on friday. i was told to use some silicone grease on the weather stripping. and also, i am getting my door fixed. On the passenger side, the door is rubbing off the bottom of the fender, they had to order a shim thing or something. .... Thank god for warranty lol

did u just backtape the doors epoxy and re shoot the bottoms? Looks like its just base inside the jams really dont have that much shine to them. Kinda of looks like wet base with some dx 57 hardener or misted clear.

I went to look at a 09 SS/TC and the paint was missing on the lower part of the door (where it meets the lower part of the A-pillar weather strip). It didn't seem to have rubbed off, it was just spotted like they didn't cure it properly and closed the door. This was a new car on the lot with 19 miles on the odometer.

ok so i finally checked the bottom of my drivers door, but i didn't have anything wrong with it. NOW WHEN I LOOK IN THE GAP OF THE WEATHER STRIPING, THERE'S A SHAT TON OF RUST(NOT EVEN 3 MONTHS OLD YET). Tom. i'm taking out the trim and pealing back the weather stripping to see how bad it is, and check my other doors.

I took the doors off, sand blasted the bottom, epoxy'd the bare metal, primed and painted the doors, I also cleared my jambs. Then i took the 3m clear stone guard tape and put it on the bottom where the seal meets. All they do at the fastory is put a half coat of clear on em, looks like **** and doesnt hold up worth a ****.
