Check Charge Sys msg -- 2006 Cobalt LS Sedan
After getting news that school had closed since its snowing and the gusts are 30-60+mph I go out to start my car up and it says Check Charge Sys on the DIC. I can't find my manual so what does this mean? I hope its not to serious cuz I drove home (10mi) after I saw this. Would it be because of the temp/wind or something else?
it means that the alternator isn't charging the battery OR that the voltage has dropped.
it could be a battery going bad, it could be the alternator, it could be the cables in between, or it could be that it was just so cold that the voltage was down.

if the voltage in fact is dropping, you'll eventually lose your ABS, radio, AC, etc as the car tries to save power to keep running.

Do you know how cold it feels to walk a 1/2 mile from the campus to your car when its 10F and gusts of wind 30-60mph? ...lol. I saw some chick fall over hahah. White outs all over the place lol..I hope its closed tommorrow cuz I hate eng 111..lol
I dunno if it happened right away but when I turned my car on I had the music full blast, heat all the way up and the rear defrost. I looked down to see how warm the engine was and thats what I saw.
