check engine light (MIL) came on after installing my cai it breaks up sometimes at random rpms and i have to shift.. PLEASE HELP if anyone knows wat wrong got robbed from the dealership and its under warrenty

 

Is the filter oiled? If it is that is most likely your problem. Your car is throwing the MAF code. Get a non-oiled filter and get the ecu cleared.

 

I doubt its an oiled filter issue seeing as most people here run K&N and injen CAI's without issue. I would look for a leak or loose clamp . Is it possible that the maf is installed upside down or not tight? I ran a K&N drop in / airbox mod for over a year without issue , it would have to be way over oiled to cause a problem. How much vacuum are you pulling on the gage at idle?

did you reset your computer by unhooking the battery for a little while so that it can recalibrate the air fuel ratio

 

sounds like a loose connection somewhere. i'd go check all your clamps and the maf.

 

im not sure i think a titan cold air... i put oil on the filter and i think im gonna clean the filter off thanks guys
