Check Your Battery Compartment In Trunk!!!

I have an 05 Cobalt SS/SC. I just went to put the battery back in and noticed that there was corosion around where the battery was sitting. It had eatten up some of the paint. I need to get a tray of some discription to put under the battery. Anyone who has had the same problem let me know and what you did to fix it.

Was there something wrong with your battery? I've never seen that happen on any Cobalt...

You buy the car used? Could have been a trunk leak, the water likes to pool there and it will cause corrosion over time.

I've noticed the corrosion on the terminal , and the powder on the trunk floor. I cleaned it and it hasn't returned. I also store mine for the winter.

Sounds like some battery acid leaked from the battery and ate the paint. Moisture during storage = your corrosion.
