Clean filter or Buy new?

So i just realized i have over 10k miles on my original injen airfilter....looking like i need to either clean it, or buy a new one... I've been doing some research, and noticed that there can be problems associated with cleaning ie over oiling the filter...that being said, i wanted to ask you all your opinions on the matter...

1) Keep the old and clean it

2) Just buy a new one

3) Buy a new one, and a cleaning kit...have two filters to rotate between....

Just clean and reuse, Don't put a ton of oil on it. Just spray a light even coat and let it dry. You will be fine.

3rd option. Always nice to have a spare. I mean that way you just swap it out quickly then when you have time clean the other properly.

Biggest problem is people get in a hurry.

From Injen.com

http://www.injen.com/docs/injen/cont...ct=faq_landing

"How often you need to clean your filter will depend on the air and road conditions in your area. Most filters require cleaning before the dirt build up gets as thick as the wire mesh. The usual interval is 30,000 - 40,000 miles depending on driving conditions. We recommend that you check your filter about once a year in normal usage and once every six months if you are located in a dirty environment. If you are running with a cold air intake we recommend checking the filter every 10,000 to 15,000. Using a Hydro-Shield will reduce service intervals."

I've had my AEM CAI on since a month after I got my car. I cleaned my filter with the proper dryflow filter cleaner once at 25k and again at 50k.

Both times it didn't look too bad. I feel that cleaning it every 25k works good enough for me.
