Mine does it in 1st gear when I accelerate it and then let off the gas slightly it also does it in reverse many people say its the control arm bushings that need to be replaced.

It's the CV joints clicking. Most of them do it.

At first it seems to be like every now and then, but now it happens a little more often. Do th cv joints brake? Has anyone taken the cobalt in for warranty work for that?

CV joints usually last a long time- 100k easy. You can drive on a bad CV joint almost forever. When they really start to go they'll make a nasty clicking/crunching in hard turns. The little clicking noise you're talking about shouldn't be a big deal. But if you're still under warranty, why the hell not take it to the dealer if it'll make you feel better.

I had a cv axle go out on me in a car years ago. As I was backing out of my driveway, I heard what sound like gravel hitting my car, the bearings had come flying out. Needless to say it wouldn't move at all...cost like $600 to fix because I had no experience working on fwd back then.
