Clutch is gone.

So tonight I did 2 runs at the track and both were horrible. On the first run, the car hopped sooo bad, it scared the **** outta me. With my method of launching, if never had wheelhop besides my first time at the track. I tell my friends the hell with this if that happens again. They tell me the track is super sticky to them as well in the other lane. I go again a little slower and it it still happens! The car shuddered real bad then the ABS light came on. I pulled the car over in the parking lot and turned it off then on. The clutch seemed fine at this point and the ABS light was off. I watch other people drag for awhile then go home. Its not til I get on the highway when I notice my clutch is dying. Every shift getting on the onramp was slip after slip. Even going steady at 65mph and giving it a little gas it didnt go anywhere but just slip. I know I need a new clutch for sure but just wanted to ask what the ABS light was all about?? And I guess what is a good reliable clutch to get now? A buddy of mine can get me a Exedy for 700 installed, this a pretty good clutch? Sorry for the long post. Sucks even more because yesterday was its year anniversary on my bday...

hmm i wonder if you snapped a pressure line? do these hydraulic clutches have pressure lines? Cause it sounds like a pressure plate issue; Im not sure if a clutch can just instantly bitch out like that.

Your boy can get you the Excedy clutch for 7 hundo INSTALLED?!?! I need to meet your friend. If you can hook that up, then go for it. Bangin clutch for a bangin deal. Install time is 6 hours for someone that knows what they're doin, and the clutch has been goin for no less then 1G($1,000.. lol), from what I've seen.

maybe you cracked your tranny housing with all the wheel-hop-related commotion? -- check for leaks

i checked for leaks, nada, im going to change the fluid and see if that helps, probably going to bleed it while im at it to get any air out, any recomendations aside from that? and it dosent feel loose, its just hard to get in gear and sometimes it dosent go atall, when we first bought a cobalt there was air in the transmission, so they gave us a brand new one
almost had black, now i got red phew!!
thanks

Thanks for the input guys. I just dropped it off at the dealership. I was thinking it was a pressure plate as well so I guess Ill find out by the end of the day. They said if its a part in the clutch that is bad then theyll warranty it but if not its already 300$ just to inspect on top of the actual price of a new clutch or whatever. If they charge a rediculous amount, Ill take it to my buddys Aamco Shop for the Exedy.

You most likely cracked the tranny, and your clutch plate are contaminated with oil.
That would be my guess since you said it was getting worse on the way home.
For your sake I hope not ,
