Clutch Problem Fixed!!! (at least for now)

I have a 2006 Cobalt SS/SC with 5800 miles on it. My car suffered from clutch slip so bad that you could shift hard from first to second and the rpm's would sit at redline. My car also suffered from the horriable clicking noise. I was told by my dealer that the clutch was a wear item and that it wasn't covered. I heard this same routine over and over and over. Then when I was tired of getting pushed around I finally stood up for myself, and when that did not work I went to the public relations person and the next thing I know they are more than happy to put a clutch in my car at the dealers expense and also magically was finally able to find what was causing the clicking noise and fix it. So after my car was in the shop for 2 days, and I was stuck in a 2007 Silverado as a rental that was more fun than I could have ever imagined, I finally got my car back. Turns out that these cars require being disassembled into hundreds of pieces to have the clutch replaced, at which point I had went to check on it and I saw my entire drivetrain sitting behind my car. But back to the point, my car is like never before, I have never owned nothing but a clutch and still stalled it out the first time I let the clutch out pulling it out of the shop. As soon as I realized I had a clutch that actually worked now I was excited.

After talking to the guy that worked on it and looking at the clutch itself It became very obvious that these clutch's are ****, It looked like it only took one time riding it (trying to get of the line at the strip) to cause it to start slipping and afew down shifts ( Highway pulls) to burn these clutch's. The clutch itself looks now more sturdy than a piece of Aluminum Foil.

For those who have been told by your dealer there is nothing you can do try what I did. You can't back down to these people because they will run you over.

Is this clicking noise after you shut the engine off? I have a clicking noise, almost rythmic. It sounds like it's coming from the middle of the car on the underside. It worries me a little...

Your car clicking when you turn it off is your exhaust cooling, everyone has that, his problem was different. But what was it?

i had a ticking on cold start, turned out to be a cracked exhaust manifold. it would go away after the car warmed up.

about the clicking, it is just a little tapping from the manifold. Noting to worry about, not pinging like some assume from running sh!tty gas or detination from a cylinder. I have clutch problems too , butlike most dealers are unwilling to do anything, even after a gm rep came to look at it. I filed complaint w/ BBB and saved up for stage 2.. Np problme s after that... word to the wise..

I just had my "clicking noise" cured yesterday. The dealer had to replace the half-shaft axles and it fixed it!

Take it in and explain how others have had the same issues with the half axles. The dealer should replace them under warranty.
