dont no exactly what the problem is, but i think the clutch is slipping. when i drive and give gas my rpm's jump up fast and then drop and then the clutch grabs, and keeps doing that. but at high rpm's it grabs and pulls good. i also lost boost. i had 12.5 -13 spi and now i have like less then 10 psi when i gun it. and when i drive normal i don't even get over 0, when before this happened i had boost even driving normal. is it cuz of the clutch slipping? before this all happened. when i first turned the car on the i would have -21spi -- (- 22)psi, something like that. need help.

 

I would think you should be able to smell the clutch frying if its doing it that bad.

 

what mods do you have?

how many miles on that clutch?

and if it was your clutch you would definitely smell it, and if your clutch is slipping THAT bad, yes it might cause you to lose boost because you are do not have a full load on the engine, when the engine is at idle u can rev it redline and would still make vacuum because there is no load on the engine

 

i have no mods done to it. and the car has 36,230 miles on it. i can drive the car normal but when i give gas to speed up, the clutch slips. do i need a new one?

 

Sounds like the clutch, but the boost part I dunno.

 

sounds like me i just bought a new stock flywheel and a spec 2 + clutch from TTR and hopefully getting it in soon i like to baby my car but ever now and then i like to let her run and i cant right now

 

yeah, sounds like you need a clutch, and as for boost during "normal driving" I never hit boost during normal driving, the highest i get up to is 0psi(and thats going up a hill even) I have the stock pully though. but if u still have a warrenty, give it to the dealer and tell them to fix the "boost leak" not sure what it could actually be.

im thinking of buying a spec stage 2 clutch kit that fits on the stock flywheel, is that good?
and when the clutch slips i should loose some boost right ???

 

yep its your clutch...the same thing is happening to m right now......im getting the clutchmasters (iv) clutch.....i took it to the dealership to see if i could get a free clutch but the dude was like its not under warranty and said something like the stock is junk and weak....so yea,look into an aftermarket clutch.....

 

yea i think yous right. ima get the spec stage 2 clutch and put that on.cuz right now even when i drive normal it slips. and it really annoying and sucks.
