Cobalt problem need help

ok so on my way home from work i was driving and was in 4th gear and a car was infront of me and i down shifted to 3rd gear and got into boost and my car rmps just went all the way up while in gear and i tried to put it in all gear and let the clutch out slowly and reved it and it went to about 20mph and was at 4k rpm what can be wrong?

Sounds like the clutch is slipping.

I agree.

OP, any time you floor it in a higher gear and the RPMs shoot up abnormally, your clutch is slipping.

Get the LSJ Clutch Upgrade Kit
Ecotec LSJ Clutch Upgrade Kit 19212712

It will hold all the power you would need.

That's exactly what my car did about 6 months ago. Just like the other guys said ^^ mine was a slipping clutch
