Cobalt Shut Off?
Ok so I have an auto 07 2.4 cobalt. I was leaving work and pulling out of the parking lot when all of a sudden the car shut down like as if it stalled. So the rpms just dropped and it started to roll backwards. I used the brake and put it in park. Oh, I thought maybe I accidently hit it in neutral but it was in drive. Once I turned it off then started it back up it made a kind of clunking noise then it started fine. Other factors would be I turned the air conditioning full blast when I started it up and it was like 95 degrees. Any help???

Yea, I'm pissed cause it's only about a year old and 15700 miles. I was just weird because now that i'm thinking about it I don't know if the car actually shut down or if if the engine just did. I was shocked so I was more worried about starting it back up.
I called GM today and they said unless it happens again they really can't do anything or if anything sounds out of place.
Random question, the car's fan in the engine bay was going at it quite loud, is that normal? Cause I pulled up to get my gf at the mall and she said the car sounded loud.
AND wow I'm stupid ; GleMon...how did I miss that lol.

Sounds like you and impulseballer had the same problem. Thing was I was leaving work and literally went 10 feet at less than 10 mph (maybe less) cause I had to turn out of the parking lot. No potholes for me.
i had the same problem happened to me last week hit a pot hole while driving 65 and the car shut off on me too scared me for a second
might be a safety thing, hard impact triggers a sensor to shut the car off. you know to prevent a fire or sumtin if you were in a crash.
