Cobalt wont go into gear

Hey guys having a little issue with my cobalt ss/sc 2007. I have a new clutch in the car and every couple months or so its gets worse and worse to put into gear. I brought back to mechanic that put in clutch and he said the slave was moving away from the firewall and not engaging properly. They took it away from the firewall bent the tabs back to normal position and the problem went away but gets back to not be able to shift every couple months. Anyone ever hear of this or fix it plz let me know thanks !

The slave cyl is in the transmission. Are you talking about the master cyl?

I'm guessing you mean master cyl and when you push on the pedal that force bends the cyl away from the firewall?

Do you know if its something to do with the firewall or the cyl itself. Any pics?

No pics at moment but everything was changed when clutch was put in so the line and cylinder is all new. But how the mechanic explained to me was the tabs on the firewall looked bent so they bend them back into position and it drove great for a few weeks but now its not so good

Well if the tabs were bent bending them back will just make it weaker. Is he talking about the tabs on the firewall or cyl. Hopefully cyl

Ok if you look at that pic of the master see how it's got the grooves in it and you turn it to hold it in. If those grooves are damaged yes buy that if it's your firewall I'm guessing you'll need some welding. The adjustment won't help you if the cyl is moving away from the firewall
