Coke in shifter...easy to clean?
Coke in shifter...easy to clean?
So I was driving home from Subway and stopped a little hard at a light and lost a whole cherry Coke that was sitting on the floor in a carrier. There was another one that didn't spill so I quickly picked it up to put it in a rear cup holder. Well I didn't notice but I guess it was dripping a lot and some dripped onto the shifter and into the groove (this is an auto). It couldn't have been much, it wasn't a SPILL into the shifter, but I definitely saw some sitting in the groove. I cleaned it, but some must have gotten inside because ever since later that night my shifter is occasionally hard to move and makes an icky sound when I move it. That was around Christmas and it's been a few months now, it works fine and I can always move it but sometimes just a little tough and makes a sound. I have inspection next month and would like them to take it apart and clean it, is this a big thing to do? About how much could it cost?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Okay maybe I'll give some pieces a tug and see what happens. Perhaps only the top most area needs cleaned, like right under the groove.
