Unhappy cooling fans do NOT come on.

i am new here and decided to go Platinum to get the cool decals

my car's fans do not come on... the highest I've seen it rise is around 246 F without the fans coming on..... i remember they used to kick in around 196 F but now ...not even on LOW.... i found this out last month... the IC pump went out around the same time , so i started hitting it with a hammer to turn it on. i know i will replace it by next month (money issues) oh and i wired the left cooling fan (engine, not the ac cooling fan since it comes on when AC is on) so i can manually cool it down, but it still doesn't go as low as it used to. probably the IC pump isn't circulating well....i replaced the temp sensor already and the other one was checked for continuity and was still good ,but still replaced it...i also replaced both relays (fan1, fan2) ...i dont think it the thermostat since both lower and upper hose get hot... any ideas....? anyone?

When the engine is hot, check the tempature of the radiator itself, if its not hot, then your thermostad is the problem.
Also check the fan fuses.
Also
What year/ Trim/ Engine?

With "Turbo" in your name Im GUESSing your SS 08/09/10 LNF

EDIT: Just checked your profile, your '06 LSJ

Turn on AC, one fan should turn on immediately. If not, fan issue it is.

The radiator gets hot and also both upper and lower hoses, so i dont think its the thermostat...
the fuses look ok.. this is driving me crazy.. i dont know where else to look i will re check everything again tomorrow, these cars only have 1 temp sensor right?

I've said this before. The electric fan systems on these cars are terrible! I've never seen that high but I've 220+ many times in the summer. Really poor design. Fans are supposed to come on at 225, how stupid is that?! Normal operating temp is 180ish.

to my understanding the temp sensor on left side of the engine sends a signal to the pcm and then the relays get signal and fans kick in... if the sensor and the relays are ok... what else can be wrong...?

lol yea such a stupid system, the only time it's going to get that high unless there's a bigger issue is idling for a long ass time.
turn the fans on all the time if it makes you feel better, it's annoying as all hell though.

IC pump being dead won't affect the engine coolant unless you're doing pulls.
Dunno any troubleshooting other than what you tried, maybe see if someone is nice in TX and has all 06's unlocked on their HPT and will help you out to just change the fan tables.
