No CEL?

Check the obvious stuff. Air filter, loose electrical plugs, bad spark plug.

Hell, what am I saying? Its a new car under warranty. Take it in and quit thinking about it.

I say its probably the MAF, sounds like symptoms from a non-working MAF

Do you mean that it bucks in first gear? Sometimes mine does that to me after a cold start. I just take it slow and get into 2nd a quickly as I can.

Same problem here. I usually let the car warm up a little bit before I drive it and thats all it takes. As for a solution: hellifino

Yeah its generally not a good idea to cold start and just slam it in 1st and take off. Let the oil circulate for 20 seconds or so. Wait for the rpms to drop under 1k and then take it easy til the ol' girl is up to temperature.

I dont mean let it idle until the coolant gets to 190. Good god that would take forever. Just let the engine do its own little warmup thing it normally does ( about 20 - 40 seconds in COLD weather ) and then take it easy til shes warm.

Yea, take it in and ask for them to check it out. regardless of how warm or cold I usually let my car get to 90* or more before attempting to go anywhere if the car has been sitting for a decent amount of time.

Do you get an SES or CEL? Have you had the DTCs read to see if your computer has stored any codes?
Take it to the dealer and let them check it out -- you may need to have the ECM reprogrammed. Since you are having a problem they should do this free for you. Ask them if they have TIS2000 update version 6.5 delivered @ June 2006. If they tell you they don't know what you're talking about ask them to look up Service Bulletin 06-06-04-033 for the 2005/2006 2.2 and 2.0.

Here's an idea how a car works. When you start a car it is unlubricated and lubrication is not doing its job.Every fluid in your car needs to warm up including the fluid in the transmission before it starts doing its job. When you start your poor cobalt in the cold and it has no oil or tranny or power steering and so fourth you are actually hurting it stressing the motor no less. Start it let it warm up at LEAST wait 2 minutes b4 you pull out and i bet it doesnt do it as bad.I go to Wyo-Tech its people who dont let their cars lubrication go through their vehicle b4 beating the **** out of them thats going to make me money I guess.
