Question cracked exhaust manifold.

Can it throw lean code p0171? I can hear a buzzing sound sometimes when I step on it on cold starts

i pulled off a zzp manifold that was cracked before, ended up being warped aswell, made a rattling sound when cold, huge exhaust leak. this car threw a lean on decel code, i forget what the actual code was tho.

i dont think so, the guy just ended up buying a new one (the revised one that has relieve cuts) but a turbo did blow on the manifold previously.

Dawg, you have a vacuum leak. I'll bet your LTFT are in the positive double digits, right?!
Boost leak test with soapy water to find the leak. You can also smoke test it.

I used soapy water and found nothing lol then I used carb cleaner and no luck either.. and I thought the crack could b the issue since its before the 02 sensors but need more advise :P

Yes an exhaust leak before the o2 sensor can give you a lean code. When u get off the gas it pulls in air and throws the code

Your exhaust manifold shouldn't be throwing that code, do you have an aftermarket intake? Or did you do the airbox mod perhaps? Before I got tuned, my car was throwing that code because of the airbox mod, because of the extra air coming into the engine.

I kinda got the same or at least a similar issue... should start my own thread but I figured id chime in.. the only difference is I get that code and that leaky buzzing sound even after replacing the crappy manifold and dp the car had when I bought it.. put a new mad-nab headers and zzp catted dp.. still getting that noise.. fml

does that mean I keep blowing gaskets or something..? the car sounded normal for a couple of days after I put in header and dp.. and then back to that dumb noise..

have you checked the flexpipe? those tend to crack alot more often than manifolds do
