Crank sensor
Crank sensor
So last Sunday (the 15th) being a very nice and sunny, but cold day here i decided to take my '05 SS to the coin-op and clean it up. I had it all cleaned off and looking good so i go to back it out into the sun and do the finishing touchs and................it don't start, it turned over fine, i had almost a 1/2 tank of gas, but no start. I had not sprayed under the hood, not that it should make a difference, and had never had a starting problem before. I had to get some help to push it out of the stall and stood there scratching my head with the hood up while people around me are commenting on what a nice car I have, and I am thinking it would be even nicer if it would start. I tryed it a couple of more times and had the same, cranks over strong but no hint of firing. So I call roadside assistance and give the guy my location, and describe the problem I am having with my car, he asks to confirm the symptoms and well I am reviewing them I decide to try it once more, and it fired, but didn't start. I tell the guy to hold on a second, and try it once more, this time with success, and the check engine light on. I tell the guy thanks but i got it going, drive it home shut it off and try it again, it started but took long then it should have, so into the shop it goes on Monday the 16th of January. Tuesday the 17th of January he phones me up and says it is a crank sensor that needs replaced they just need to wait for one to come in on order. Wednesday the 18th of January I get another phone call, the can't find one anywhere and are not sure when the can, they may have to to one straight for the line. Thursday January 19th, another phone call, they found the part, it's on a boat in the middle of the ocean they are thinking of trying to air freight it in. So as it stands now I was told another week which would put it to Thursday 26th or Friday 27th January.
Yup I had the same problem. Whenever I took it in, the dealership messed up and didnt have it aligned back up right, took them forever to get correct info on the piston alignment. After talking to a GM rep they got it fixed.
i had the same problemmm
when i took it in they said it would be a day (took 2 days)
when i got it back luckly i had to get an oil change and i get my own oil and filter and take it to where a firend worked (stupid crappy tire south whitby) and he would do the oil change 60total do it myself is alot better then 120 Dealership way...
and stupid Bob Myers after they fixed the crank sensor forgot to plug in the water pump for the supercharger.. (MOTHER F%#KERS) luckly i only drove around for 3-5 hours with it unplugged and not a week until it blew up.......
