Talking Cruise Control Problems?

I have an 06 Chevy cobalt SS/SC i just had it in the shop because cruise control didnt work. They called and said clutch slipped and sent a code not alowing cruise to set. I got it fixed but now i still cant seem to get cruise to set, I look at the dash as it says cruise engaged and it flicks on then flicks off really quickly. and doesnt set

Any suggestions? that would be great thanks.

search button is your friend, it is the position sensor for clutch the throws a code and causes it to disable, get someone to reset the code for you or disconnect your battery for 10 minutes and then it will work again

Upper clutch switch bad maybe, or out of adjust?

Hmmmm, maybe a brake light switch? Be pretty easy to tell if someone was to follow you, see if the brake lights are flickering maybe. Had that happen on an my wifes Taurus - switch for the third brake light broke so it was on all the time and of course, the cruise would not set because it thought the brake was being used and so disengaging.

Judging from what I've seen on here, I'd bet on the clutch switch though

had the same problem on my 06 ss/sc... took it to the dealer about 5 different times... finally came to the conclusion that its a bad switch in the steering wheel. Dealer in FL said he's had a few of these come through. This is after my dealer in IL replaced the clutch position sensor 3 times. So far cruise has been working.... hope this helps.

they can also adjust the sensors to be less sensitive as well, this is what they did with mine last and has been good since.

if anyone ends up having this problem to i finaly got my car into the dealership to get the cruise control fixed. Ended up being that when my car was stuck in the mud and trying to get it out and feathering the clutch alot it threw a clutch safty code which does not alow the cruise control to be set untill it is cleared. Ended up being that if you hold your clutch down for a long period of time, for example keeping the clutch in a little to Get your car out of the mud the computer thinks that the clutch is stuck somewhat engaged and throws a code which didnt allow the cruise control to be set. Dealer cleared the code and as good as new again. As for my cd player tho they had to order me a new one, unknown reason on why it is having the cd issue.

Talking

Well i had it fixed again, then it went out again so i took advice and unplugged the battery for 10 minutes and that worked. So if you dont have time to take it to dealer just undo the battery terminal for 10 minutes and it resets it. Aka dont rest your foot on clutch while driving either that also throws the code. Thanks
