Cruise Issue
Cruise Issue
Ok, so my cruise hasn't worked now for a few weeks.
I've heard it can be an issue with the 3rd tail light. I was wondering how you replace those exactly. I know that one is out for sure, the other works intermittently.
Thanks for the help

unhook your battery for 10 min and reconnect it...should work
if you cruise is where you hit the button and then it flashes on and then off this is your fix...
also keep your foot of the clutch

Problem can be caused by a couple of different things.
1. If you ride the clutch the computer will throw a code thinking that the clutch sensor is bad or if the clutch sensor does go bad it will throw a code. The code is "invisible" and does not cause the check engine light to come on.
2. If the brake switch is bad. (Normally this one is easy to tell because your brake lights don't come on)
3. If the sensor that detects what gear you are in goes bad or if you release the clutch x number of times (I don't remember how many times it is... I think maybe 10 times??) without changing gears it will cause the computer to throw another "invisible" code that the sensor that detects what gear you are in is bad.
As long as the actual sensor is not bad you can disconnect the battery for 10 minutes then reconnect the battery and it will clear the code. If the cruise control still doesn't work you will need to go have the codes read to see which code is causing the cruise to be disabled.
