Thumbs up does ANYONE know what caused my car to do this??

ok guys. i have a 2.4 automatic cobalt.
yesterday, as i was going up a driveway, my car basically stopped moving. it sounded as if my wheel had fallen off, and as if my rotor was scrapping on the ground, but once i got out of my car, there was nothing visibily wrong. i got back in, went into reverse, and i was able to get down the driveway just fine. but there was a rough sound present when i moved. sounded like something was dragging on the road from under my hood. i was able to drive forward once i got maybe onto the level street, but not up the driveway. (i tried 3 times) same thing each time. my car just comes to a rough stop. it's almost like my front wheels wouldn't move forward at all until i went back down in reverse. i ended up getting my car towed to my mechanic because i didn't wanna cause any more damage, and he says it's something with the transmission and my axles. and due to the fact that i'm on coilovers, there's too much stress on the tranny? IDK! does anyone have any clue to what is going on?? thank you in advance!

Coilovers are known to cause axle bind so that could be your problem. The solution for that is rotated trans mounts but they don't make them for autos. Ttr has trans mount bushing but I don't know if that would help your problem

yeah, i looked into the rotated trans mount but no one makes them for autos. but i DID get 2 ttr poly tranny inserts and a ttr solid upper motor mount. i've been driving with those for about 2 days ...and im not sure if that would be causing this? the mounts are awesome

They shouldn't cause this problem. Axle bind is caused because your car is lower and the suspension geometry has been changed. That means that the angle and distance between the engine and suspension and the engine and trans are closer to the hubs meaning that the axles are basically too long and are binding up. Since you are auto, if axle bind is the problem, the only real solution is to get custom axles that are shorter.

I would bet money your axle popped out of the trans. Due to being lowered.
