Driver Side door doesn't close

So occasionally on my coupe. I go to close my driver side door, and it just hits with a thud and bounces off and doesn't close. Anybody have any ideas?

Its not a regular occurrence but it has happened a couple times. once i was gone for a while and when I got back my door was open (not a great feeling to come to your car and see the door open. )

It's going to the dealer on monday for some work anyway, so I guess I'll tell them about it. Just wondering if any of you guys have had the problem or know the cause.

Is the seatbelt in the door? Sometimes mine doesn't re-tract.

Sounds like the latch that is supposed to grab and hold the door closed, isn't always latching down on the piece on the door. You may just need to spray some wd-40 or put a little lithium grease on it. If it continues to give you problems and you are under warranty you could always take it in to the dealer.

yea, its a rare occurrence (only when its really warm which is more itneresting... maybe swelling?) but like I said, its going to the dealer on monday anyway. I'll add it to the list.

not being able to get out would suck! Dont ya hate that? You take it in to get it fixed and then they look at it and it doesn't do the problem anymore? ... Stupid car lol

I've had the same problem before. I just have to mess with it for a second and It'll work just fine. It hasn't done it for a while now. Something is sticking in the door handle.
