Driver's Door Won't Open!!

I was at AutoZone yesterday getting a new turn signal bulb and when I left the store to get in the car, I tried opening the driver's side door from the outside and it wouldn't work. Then I tried to open it from the inside (after crawling through the passenger side) and the inside driver's handle wouldn't work either.

Got a warranty-work appointment for it on Wednesday, will update after to let you guys know what it was.

Hey same thing happened to me. its weird. If you mess with the locks a little bit it goes back. I don't know how I did it. Its happened to me 3 times in the past month or so and never before. I think it may be related to the cold. If you get it fixed PM me with what happened.

I tried the locks...didn't work. When I try to open the outside handle, I can see this big old hunk of plastic between the handle and where it goes into the door--I think something's really really broken. Hope the GM techs don't have too hard of a time getting it open.

I've had the same problem. unlocking and locking a few times fixes temporarily. I just haven't had time to take it to the dealership to get it checked out, it is really annoying though. before I figured out the lock thing I was going in through the window, dukes of hazard style.

I fiddled with the unlock button on the keyless entry fob and pulled the inside door handle at various intervals and something worked because now it once again works like a charm. I'm sure that since this is a problem that will get worse with time, I will have to cancel my appointment tomorrow since I know they won't be able to replicate the problem--but I'll take it in next time it happens, even though I know how to temporarily fix it.

Just an update.

yes... every time you try to take it in, the tech will note "could not replicate"

EXACT same thing happened to me on xmas eve. I just messed with the locks a little, and got tension back on both handles, now it works perfect again.

I feel better its not just me, I"ll have to keep an eye on this.

it's from getting moisture in the door. i got stuck in my car,and realized if you kind of fling the outside handle it should release.

happened to me so I stopped by the dealer and showed them. Fixed it under warranty. There was a clicking noice like something was binding in the door whenever I opened it from the inside.

Door wouldn't open yesterday after working fine all morning, so I took it to Chevy this morning. They got me right in and had me out within an hour. They said something was just binding up in there, and they greased and sealed everything so it wouldn't freeze up on me. All fixed....hopefully.
