Looks like GM is stepping up now and coming out about the problem. Wished they had done this many months ago.

 

so does anyone have any updates/pictures/mileage for this quick fix? i need to try this cuz the dealer wants like 400 bucks just for the part and 2 hours of labor plus tax to fix mine...

 

What are they wanting to replace? The whole steering column? It doesn't even come with a new motor - If all you need is the motor, the part # is 19257876 and retails for $111.79 (cdn) - labour to put it in shouldn't be anymore than .6 (extreme high side) Not sure why you would replace the column?

 

thanks sholt i hope its the right # because when i talked to the dealership, they wanted to replace the whole steering column and they quoted 386 plus tax
