Engine FUBAR'D or what?
Engine FUBAR'D or what?
Well today I get home from work and my brothers like, yo my car is fooked. Well I went outside and we proceeded to take a look at his spark plugs. Well holy ****... THERE WAS A FOOKING EXPLOSION in one of his chambers...
Here are the pics.

He is going to have it towed to Saturn tomorrow, but he has Autolite plugs in it. It appears there is a o ring that is right near where the plugs are that is leaking oil, that went down and hit the spark plug and caused this problem. Is he going to have any warranty woes from having non stock spark plugs in the car if he tows it there tonight?

The only thing I think they would try to nail you with is improper installation of the new spark plugs. I somehow doubt they would go that far though. I'd just take it in and hope for the best.

Ok lets tell it how it is.
You put in aftermarket plugs. Then you have some sort of explosion and the coil is melted and the plug shattered.
Oh they are gonna blame it on the plugs, probably cause thats what caused it.

oh and those plugs have been in there for MONTHS....
I guess I don't see the oil leak in the pictures.
Good luck with the dealer, they might not even notice the aftermarket plugs. I doubt they keep tabs on what the stocks plugs are for an obsure LSJ engine.

Yeah, just be up front with them, and I'm sure everything will be ok. I don't know why GM would try and get tough with the warranties because you know when they made these cars they knew that they were going to be driven hard.
