the actual engine light is on, i thought a CEL came on in the DIC
was i wrong?

the manual says its obd2 sensors, im guessing clogged cat? i really dont have time to take it to the dealership this week

when did you fill your tank last ? the cobalts have a pressurized system and if the tank isn't sealed right it will do that to you my 2.2 did it when I had it. Also it will take a few starts to get it to shut off try to take the gas cap off and put it back on. Try that first. Hopefully thats all it is

 

this happened when i was low on gas, so i ran my tank to damn near empty, and refilled it with gas
i hoped it was the gas cap, but it wasnt

 

There is a bulletin on Cobalt cats. The paper that is used to wrap the honeycomb insert in the tube, when it burns can cause the light to come on. Another guy at my shop bought an automatic cobalt and had to replace his cat because of it.
