Engine Noise?...

So question.. i might be listening to closely but when i listen to my engine with the hood open i can hear a slight chattering noise comming from what sounds like inside the motor. kindof like a metal chatter noise. im not really sure how these motors are supposed to sound. ive never actually listened to the motor to know whats abnormal. so if anybody could help me please let me know. if its normal id love to hear that but id also like to hear the truth.

the car still has the same amount of power as it always has. now i know these cars have a metal sounding noise from the timing chain when it goes but would it make noises before it actually goes? im just getting worried... might be over thinking it.

never really heard of one going bad, they just make a small chattering noise. if it hasnt been replaced go ahead and replace it anyways its cheap and easy to do and its a good chance it might just fix your problem
