Engine Quirk

I was driving home from work and got to a stop sign and decided to open up the car for once(2006 ss/sc with 11k mileage).... I took off at about 2000 rpm and shifted at 5600rpm.... when i went into 2nd,3rd,4th gears all that happened was the rpms rapidly started to rise but the car wasn't going anywhere and it felt like the car was in nuetral(but it was deffinetly in gear.) anyone know what the problem might be or have the same thing happen before? I tried it again when I was driving a couple of days later(this time from a 2nd gear roll) and it did the same thing in 3rd and 4th gear...

It has only happened twice.... I use it as a daily driver from central NJ to DE(for work) so I usually don't beak on the car... but out of the hand full of times I have... it has happened only twice... yes it did smell like clutch... just seeing if there was a common problem, if there was a fix, and if there was a recall on the clutch? and no I bought it new with 100 miles on the odometer(car was driving in from michigan)

The clutch slipping... is that a defect from gm or just a shitty clutch? Cause i drive 109 miles one way to work(bought the car the last week of August 2006), all highway miles and I do not beat on the car besides a hand full of pulls(and no redline pulls).

Read that... THAT is your problem. I shifted at 3K the whole time I've had the car, never had a problem... I granny drove it for a week and tried it, and it slipped like crazy. That is probably your problem.

Happened to me once I smelled clutch and stopped immediatly. It never happened again.
I have about 12500 on my 06 SS/SC and I beat on it everyday. I love this car.

These clutches are plenty strong. Most of the problems ppl are having, are "operator" error. If the clutch slips when you're getting on it into 2nd and you keep on it, it will keep slipping into 3rd and 4th, like you said.
