The better question would be what in the hell compelled you to do 120mph on a highway??????????

Might be a number of things, engine problem, PCM/BCM problem, ignition problem like bumping the key, who knows. Good luck getting GM to fix it though, LMAO.

Yeah... okay.

I am sure at 17 years old, you HAVE sped consistantly.

The only people that "havent sped in months" are the little old men and ladies driving their cadillacs and crown vics at 35 Mph in a 55 mph zone.

You people act like you've never opened your car up on the highway. Just because he's 17 and your older doesn't give you the right to do it no more than it gives him. He turned to these forums in hopes of someone helping him out a little and all you can do is bitch about him doing 120mph. I'll bet theres not a single person on this board that hasn't hit at least 120mph. Like I said, just because your older doesn't mean you can do it and he can't. And don't even act like you have never driven that fast before. IMO, if you don't have anything HELPFUL or nice to say then why the hell post in the "problems and service" forums just to bitch at him....

As for your problem; I have no idea what it could be bro, I've had my car that fast a few times (kiss my ass) and it's never cut off... Keep asking around I guess. Hope everything works out for you...

No problem man. It's not right for people to talk **** to you like that when they know they've done the same thing. Have you hit 120 since the last time your car shut off?

No CEL and it didn't do it again, I'd chalk it up to a **** happens and move on. Now if it does it again I'd go to the dealer and tell them its happening around 70 that way they'll at least look at it for you. Whatever you do DO NOT go to the dealer and say..."Yeah hi my car shuts off at like 120 to 130 could you take a look at it for me?" Your gonna be told to have a nice day.

yeah maybe 2-3 times before, and this is the first time its ever done this, well once it did shut off, due to the funny idle problem everyone is having but not sure what it was all about today, and its the first time in a long time i opened her up on the highway, we had a field trip for class and couldnt be late

x1.. Good advice. Although they will take it for a test drive and say "nothing seems to be wrong, if it happens again, just bring it back".
