I'm not sure if anyone remembers, but a couple of days ago I had been asking if anyone had heard of a weird rattling sound coming from the engine. I posted a couple weeks before that and got an accumulated post count of 5 between the two posts....which was quite low i think. Anyways, of the five responses it seemed that nothing major was wrong with my car, just maybe something loose. Along with that, I felt almost no performacnce difference with the sound. So just to be on the safe side I decided to take it to the dealership. I was lucky enough to get a service worker by the name of Sean who has a stage 3 SRT-4 and new a lot about cars. I showed him my problem and he immediately told me that I should leave it and get a rental car. I asked why and he said that even though you may not feel a difference in performance, anything in the engine should be taken care of asap bcuz it could be a problem internally. So i sadly gave the keys to the dealership and went home. Two days later I call back and they say that nothing on the outer part of the engine is wrong and they will hav to keep it for two more days. I am already pissed and my parents are pissed cuz they hav to drive me everyware. So I call two days later and they say that my supercharger is jaked up........GREAT!!!...on top of that, the manager talks to me about how i need to pay $3500 to get a new supercharger. I pretty much yelled "are you ******* kidding me?"...and after a long conversation i was able to point out that with only 3000 miles (and the car in under warranty) there should b no problem. So they agreed.....finally, and ordered it. It is supposed to be coming in 2morrow and installed same day. I will hopefully be able to pick it up 2morrow afternoon. I just hope they install it right and don't jack up/ or forget to do something to make sure my car is fine.

sorry im just super pissed...i mean, it just hit 3000 miles...god...

anywayz, sorry for the long text, the moral of the story is that even if there is a small sound coming from your engine u should do all you can to find the problem.....

Ps- Has no one ever experienced this????? or am i just the guinea pig on this one...

 

You should have just told him "Sure ,let me write this 3500 dollar check and POST DATE it for the day after the warranty expires in five years." They should know as soon as they put your car in the system that it is still under warranty.

Yep. We need a sticky that says "if you think something is wrong with your supercharger take it to the dealer and don't say jack about it here". Everytime this comes up we have to point everyone to the threads that already address this.

 

hey what did the noise sound like? did it sound maybe like dice in a cup?

if i brought mine in to have it checked, should i put my stage 2 pulley back on? (i have PB 2.8")

 

I dunno man... my supercharger is loud when I open the hood but I believe it has sounded like that since day one... oh well the day the car goes to hell is the day I bring it in get it fixed and sell it.
