Exhaust Problem... Any Ideas?
Exhaust Problem... Any Ideas?
Hello,
I have a problem and just wanting to know if anyone has any answers…
I have an after market downpipe and magnaflow exhaust…
The installers that put it on must have done a hack job because the link between the two items are failing…
Failing you say? Yah the links between the bolts have bent open and now leaking exhaust… Badly…
I have taken this to 2 exhaust shops and have said that if I can bring in the link they can weld it in but have
no clue where to find it… any ideas or help?
Thanks guys

There i think this is a better pic..
The 3 bolt connecter has bent open on both sides. Is that possible to fix? or do i have to replace the hole header/DP?
Also my Connecter (flange?) only has 2 bolts on it.
Thanks
they bent the 3 bolt flange??? the circled parts below?? wow no idea how they did that..
check here.... Cobalt & Ion ---> ZZ Performance
they have the 3 bolt lsj flange. it is 35 each so if they meesed up both you will need 2.

From what the pic shows the flange a "washer" like thing that goes between the 2 pipes?
If so the 2 pipes where they are bolted together is acutualy bent.
I'm at work so resorcest are limited.

your car bent the flange after a day at the track?? you hit something? also where did u take your car? if it was the gm dealership on geatz and 32nd id recommend taking it somewhere else, they charged me over $500 to replace my studs when they snapped 2 years ago
I bent it at the track last summer, but over this winter it has opened up to a point i can stick my fingers in the hole.
I took it to light speed innovations they sent me to south hill muffler. South hill is sending me to ho performance... after 2 charges with no work done i want to get more info to see if it is even posible to fix or just replace...

The exhaust shouldn't be rigid enough to allow the kind of force it would take to bent that flange without moving the whole system . Between the flexpipe and the rubber hangers .... it should give before bending . Are you sure you didn't hit something ....or that it didn't line up perfect and the installers bent the ears trying to suck it together ? I guess a picture would explain alot..... good luck thou , hope u get it sorted out.
EDIT.... Ok ... wait .... it's bent were the DP meets the header ? Or the the dp meets the catback? This has me confused cause ive never seen a header to dp connection that is only 2 bolt.
