F You Chevy!

Dear Chevrolet,

What the f-ck is wrong with you? Who the f-ck do you think you are? Who died and made you Ferarri? Now I have to wait for one of you to get off you're union asses and pull a transmision from the supply line to send me. Am I the only jackass in the world that's blown a transmission for this car? Horsesh-t. It's imf-ckingpossible. There is no f-cking way I'm going to wait for 2 months for some ******* to get off his ass to wrap and ship me my f-cking part. F-ck you douchebag.

In case you're wondering why I'm ranting, I've blown my entire f-cking transmission. I just was called (yes at 11pm) from the shop manager and he told me that they cannot locate a new transmission, and it's gotta come from the f-cking factory, most likely off of the belt before it makes it into a new Cobalt. I asked if I am the only person who this has happened to, and he said the parts f-cker @ Chevy corporate says that I'm the first one who needs a new one. 2 f-cking months. Unf-ckingbelieable.

Don't ask how I did it, I don't know. Pix to follow once the bitch is dropped.

No you are not the first and only. There have been atleast 2 others on this site alone.

BTW might want to tone down the vulgarity. I understand that you are pissed, but show at the least a little maturity and intelligence.

My transmission quit about 2 onths ago.......and I went through the whole "we can't locate parts......and we don't know when they will arrive" This went on for about 2 weeks, I was prepared to be waiting a LONG time.......but then the parts came in and it was fixed asap. Hopefully your car has the same outcome......

Chill out, you have a warranty...AND im sure if you get maybe your parents (considering your young the way your talking) to talk to them im sure you could get them big time like having them buy the car back if you have really low miles and its brand new

Edit: what mods have you done? to put that much strain on a new tranny?

alot of cobalt owners are no doubt young unexperianced drivers. To many these are their first standard cars. Many little mistakes can really damage transmission and related componets. Like mis shifts and grinding gears, riding the clutch pedal, and hard shifts. Its not only a chevy issue, hop on to the rsx and celica forums an youll see alot of issues with grinding gears and broken transmission. In the end i believe its unexpericed and or careless abuse.

don't get pissed off, go look up the lemon law in your state. some of them state that if the car is in the shop for 30 continuous days they have to replace it... don't tell the dealership you're looking into it, just find out the law hire the lawyer, wait the limit then go contact them about replacing your car under the law

i know of one whos trans went a month after he got it, the dif just melted... Fk'd the drive axles, he had to bitch and bitch to get it done

a head up manager from Chevy had to come to the dealership and discuss with the shop manager and the person working on the car and it took them 3 weeks just to decided to replace the trans........

that and the trans had to come from a Sabb factory overseas....

this is the supreme answers...

i believe a great deal of the tranny/clutch problems from this forum is inexperience driving or giving the car to much hell.. sorry but im 99% positive this is the true reason.. i have not had 1 single problem with my car and im at 7k miles but i have also been driving sticks all my life.. and i give the car hell at least 1 time a day but i have also dragged quite a few times to where i dont have mishifts/grinding/rpm hops and the what not... people should probably learn the car better before giving so much hell

Call corporate tell them that you want to speak to a PR person. Also when that PR person calls you tell them that you are calling the news. Then you are dedicating the rest of your life to driving a ford. Watch how fast your car either gets fixed, bought back, or traded.

You can't be an idiot though when speaking to a PR person. Be very well spoken and calm. Lay out the facts.

So why is chevy acting like ferarri? Did you have to wait for a tranny for your ferarri also? Are they speaking itialian? Don't worry, you will get your car back and it will be good as new. Hopefully it won't take long but believe me your not the first one on here to wait for parts. I had to wait a week and a half for a 50 cent part that hold my bumper and fender together when someone hit my car.

It's amazing how parts sometimes show up when they are only available as assembly line parts. I had a C5 Vette back in 98 with an axle seal leaking, of course GM didn't have any seals in stock so they decided to replace the entire carrier. Which of course wasn't available anywhere, being a new car and an odd ratio (3.15 if I remember correctly). After being told by the parts department in Lansing it'd be 2 months one showed up later that week, unfortunately it was the wrong ratio but low and behold 3 days later one with the correct ratio showed up.

A little known fact is that for the first 6 months of any new product GM can and usually does exchanges on parts instead of attempting repairs. Meaning if you've got an internal trans problem instead of trying to repair the problem they install a new part. Same deal with an engine, if you've got something as menial as a valve cover gasket leaking they'll replace the entire engine so that their engineers can diagnose the problem and see if it's a design defect, production line defect or just a random failure.

Moral of the story? They tell you two months and if you don't complain it might be half that time, raise a stink though and get into a rental on their dime and it'll be a lot faster. The key is the rental, anything over 3 days and the general gets worried and starts making things happen. The dealer will do anything in their power to keep from having to buy the car back so it probably won't take more than 30 days regardless.

our dealership just replaced a tranny for an 05 SS/SC, it took roughly a week for them to send it to us here in PA.

That sucks, I'm sorry.

from working in the parts department for a nother make of a car... since it is a brand new car parts may not be available for it yet. i was waiting on a condensor for a body order for 2 months coming from the plant. parts do go on backorder. so take that into concederation as well. not all dealerships stock every little peice. either due to lack of room or lack of sale on the part. example- buddy placed an order for an evo 8 spoiler back in feb. and is on back order till the end of june.

dont worry about it ,just realize after you get a new tranny you have to go to a separate tranny place and get it worked so it can handle 400 hp cause thats what i did

i blew mine up at 8000 miles while driving to work and then i had to pay for it out of my pocket cause gm are dicks
