fan doesn't work?
So yesterday i started to smell coolant in my car. I parked it letting it idle to see what it would do. The temp of the coolant went up to 221. I called my buddy and he said it could be something wrong with my fan. I looked at my fan after i turned my car back on and after th temp going over 218 it didn't come on. I'm guessing it's broke.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what is going on here and how I can fix it?

some suggestions, turn the AC on, believe the fan comes on earlier if its on. Also is this the moving temp?
bc if it is thats quite high. I dont see over 185 moving. highest ive seen sitting still is 195 but ive never had to idle overly long.

There were other posts on this the fans dont come on until 220 someting Im sure.
They will come on instantly with the aircon on to cool the condensor.
Heres the info I found.
The PCM commands Low Speed Fans ON under the following conditions:
• Engine coolant temperature (ECT) exceeds approximately 106°C (223°F).
• A/C refrigerant pressure exceeds 1 310 kPa (190 psi).
• After the vehicle is shut off, the ECT at key-off is greater than 140°C (284°F) and system voltage is more than 12 volts. The fans will stay on for approximately 3 minutes.
The PCM commands High Speed Fans ON under the following conditions:
• ECT reaches 110°C (230°F).
• A/C refrigerant pressure exceeds 1 655 kPa (240 psi).
