faulty wiring

I'm not sure what happened, but 5,300 miles on my 06 SS and I noticed my gauge lights go out. Later that night I'm at my fathers and go home for the night. He tells me on my cell after I leave that my tail lights are out. I take it to a dealer the next day. He tells me 2 weeks to fit me in. I said fine, if I get rear ended, I'll just send you the medical bills or fine. He decides then that he can fit me in the next morning. so, they give it back that night "fixed."

I take it out for the night and in the morning no lights again.

I take it back to the shop the next day. They sit on it all day and give it back 12 hours later telling me there is nothing they can do in the short term. He says, schedule and leave it here a few days.

I have no clue what damage the overloads have already caused. I really hope they can provide me with a loaner car. They were nice enough the last two times to let me walk to work when I dropped it off in the morning. I don't much want to walk around for 3 days (9 miles round trip).

Anyone else have wiring problems? I have no clue if they will even be able to track it down or at least won't ruin something else digging through all the wires.
