So my car has been coming out of first very shitty lately like jerking and/or it wants to die sometimes. only in first though. I was switching back to my painted stock headlights and stock fogs and noticed my ebay filter separated from the filter holding part and the filter was just lying on the bottom of the bumper. I was so pissed... It was nothing I did wrong, just shitty ebay was so cheap and skimped on their adhesive. Long story short, don't buy an ebay intake from ilovetacotaco on ebay... *** sent me the wrong filter anyway.

basically I have been driving around for almost a month, sucking up dirt and water.

Well, yes it was. You purchased a shitty E-bay filter, haha.

But, I'm glad your car is ok. Now go buy a good intake & filter

Note: I'm surprised your car didnt throw a CEL.

no, no.. I used a hose clamp (duh) just the filter disconnected from the part that the hoseclamp connects to the filter.

well the pipe is good, I like the 3" intake. but, the idiot sent me a red filter when I asked for blue. I cant believe it just fell off and no cel either!

"Hey GUYS, i saved 20 bucks on this sweet EBAY FILTER"
-"yeah, but your engine just blew up."
"So?" "But i saved 20 bucks!"

On a serious note, on any Forced Induction car, you want to be sure to use an Approved Filter to prevent Dust Out of engine componets. This is more crucial for Turbo charged and DI applications, but can effect supercharged cars as well.

Is it possible for someone to totally disable cel codes from being displayed w/ hp tuners?? I know off topic, but it is odd my cel did not come on and Im surprised I never had a cel since zach retuned me for the cel code he forgot to 'calibrate' for.

they don't sell just the intake pipe, otherwise I would of JUST bought that I saved more than 20$ though

I had this happen with my filter from Rebel. good thing I had a hydroshield to keep most of the crap out. I had my old AEM dryflow so it was an easy change.

Im pretty sure. There might be a tiny bit of water in the cylinders that might take a bit to get out.... It rained for almost a week straight over here + went through the wash a couple times. lol, Im very surprised my self. I might get some heet and put it in the gas tank though.

lol water is not going to stay in the cylinders unless it got flooded. if you didn't hurt anything by now, slap a filter on it and don't worry. race cars don't run filters fyi...

I have never checked my intake since I put it on, so as far as I know... it fell off a couple months ago after I just put it on...... Thinking it would be beneficial to tear down the block and clean everything up..

Engines can take alot of abuse like that. For example, how many of you have replaced the airfilter on a lawn mower??? That answer is 0000 of you. Or changed the oil in one? A small amount of water is actually good for the engine, it is the best decarbonizer.

but it does evaporate. and honestly unless you drove the car into some big ass puddle, no water got in. and if water did get in, even with a filter you're fucked

30 years ago I remember my autoshop teacher showing us how to decarbonize a big block with water. He took one of the small coke bottle(I think they were 6 or 7 oz) full of water and slowly poured it into the carb while we reved up the car to keep it from stalling. Huge amount of steam and soot came pouring out of the exhaust.
