The reverse light issue is most likely your switch, located on the tranny,Ive heard that they fail.
Backup Lamp Switch (w/M86) located Left side of the engine compartment, on top of the transmission

What are the codes that you have.
Then maybe someone on here can help you.

I have the same issue with my reverse lights .... Left side of engine compartment - from the front or as if sitting in car?

Don't happen to have a picture do you ?

Thanks

it is in a really bad spot! if you reach your had right next to the fuse box and down to the transmission, you've found it. Right where all the wires are ran.

What did you have to remove to get to it...?

I'm guessing - taking off driver's front wheel & fender liner to get to and remove the engine compartment fuse box ?

There's a thread where someone replaced a roll pin in their transmission linkage and basically had to remove all that to get to the pin - I'm guessing that it could give access to the switch at the same time...

Damn...you must have some skinny arms/small hands....

Is the switch held down by anything?

How does it dis-connect?

I just can't see how I'm going to be able to get to it (let alone even see it) without removing something....but I'll try.
